FAQ

Is the exchange rate filled in automatically?

No. This tool never fetches rates. The default values are only examples, so replace them with the rate from your card issuer or bank.

How are duty and import tax calculated?

Duty is the rate times either "items + seller shipping" or "items only", and import tax is applied to that amount plus duty. How the taxable value is really set (for example special rules for personal imports) depends on the country and item, so check official sources.

What is the effective rate?

It is the landed cost divided by the item price in foreign currency: what you really pay per unit of foreign currency once shipping, fees and taxes are included.
