FAQ

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Reading, re-saving and verification all happen in your browser; files never leave your device.

How is the metadata removed?

The image is decoded to pixels and saved as a brand-new file, so EXIF, GPS, XMP and comments are not carried over. The new file is then parsed to confirm no metadata remains.

Will my photo be rotated?

The EXIF orientation is applied before saving, so the photo looks the same way up as before.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • JPEG and WebP are re-encoded, so quality changes very slightly. PNG stays lossless.
  • Formats the browser cannot open, such as HEIC/HEIF, are not supported.
  • Visible content in the picture (faces, signs, screens) is not removed.
  • ICC color profiles may not be kept, so colors can shift slightly.
