FAQ

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Detection and replacement run entirely in your browser; the text is never sent, saved or logged, and it is gone when you close the page.

How are card numbers and ID numbers recognized?

Card numbers must have 13–19 digits and pass the Luhn check, a My Number must have 12 digits with a matching check digit, and Taiwan ID or resident certificate numbers must match their checksum. The tool does not check whether a number really exists.

Does it handle full-width digits?

Yes. Full-width letters, digits and dashes are treated like their ASCII forms during detection, and the original characters are masked in place.

Will it find all personal data?

No. Names, addresses and birth dates are not detected, and numbers glued to other digits or letters or written in unusual formats can be missed. Always review the result before sharing it.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Detection uses patterns and checksums and is not exhaustive: names and addresses are out of scope, and both misses and false matches are possible.
  • Version numbers can look like IP addresses, and numbers whose check digit happens to match may be flagged as My Number or card numbers.
  • URLs are matched on their ASCII part only, so a URL containing other scripts may be masked only partially.
  • The text you enter is never sent, saved or logged.
