Passport Validity Checker (months left on your travel dates)

Enter your passport expiry date and trip dates to see the months and days of validity left on departure and return, compared with the common 6-month and 3-month rules of thumb. It does not decide entry eligibility.

  • Runs in your browser (no upload)
This tool does not decide whether you can enter a country. It only calculates dates. How much validity your passport needs depends on the destination, transit points, your nationality, the purpose of your stay and more, and it can change. Always check official sources such as the destination’s embassy, consulate or immigration authority.

Leave blank for a one-way trip.

If an official source gives a number of months, enter it to check that condition too.

“6 months” and “3 months” are commonly seen examples, not the rule of any particular country. Check official sources for which condition applies (for example counted from entry or from departure).

How to use

  1. Enter the passport expiry date and the departure date (the day you enter the destination). The return date is optional.
  2. See the validity left on the departure and return dates and whether “6+ months” and “3+ months” are met.
  3. If an official source gives a required number of months, enter it to check that condition as well.

FAQ

Does this tool tell me whether I can enter a country?

No. It only calculates dates and does not assess entry eligibility. Required validity depends on the destination, transit points, nationality and more, and can change, so always check the destination’s official information.

How is “6+ months left” checked?

The reference date (departure or return) plus 6 months is calculated (using the last day of the month if that day does not exist). If the expiry date is on or after it, the rule is shown as met. Countries may count differently.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • It does not assess entry eligibility. The destination’s official rules on required validity and how it is counted always take precedence; check official sources such as embassies, consulates or immigration authorities.
  • No country-specific rules are listed. “6 months” and “3 months” are commonly seen examples only.
  • Visas, blank passport pages and other entry requirements are not checked.
