Favicon Generator (favicon.ico and PNG sizes)
Create favicon.ico (16, 32, 48 px) and PNG icons such as apple-touch-icon (180 px), 192 and 512 px from one image. Preview them, save everything as a ZIP and get the HTML code to add.
- Runs in your browser (no upload)
Up to 40 MB per file
Where icons are cut into circles or rounded squares (such as phone home screens), some space keeps the edges from being cut off.
iPhone home screens may show transparent areas in black, so the home-screen icon (apple-touch-icon) is filled with the background color (white when "Transparent" is chosen).
How to use
- Choose or drag and drop the image for your icon (a square of 512 × 512 px or more works best).
- Choose how to make it square, the space around it and the background (transparent or a color), then check every size and the browser-tab preview.
- Press "Download everything (ZIP)", put the files at the root of your site and add the shown code to the <head> of your HTML.
FAQ
Which files do I need?
The simplest way is to put everything from the ZIP at the root of your site and add the code to <head>. favicon.ico alone already works in most browsers.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Loading, resizing and building the ICO and ZIP all happen in your browser.
My browser still shows the old icon.
Browsers keep favicons for a long time. Try reloading or clearing the cache.
Notes & limitations
- What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
- Each size inside favicon.ico is stored as PNG data. Current major browsers read this, but some older programs may not.
- No SVG icon is made, and there is no special handling for Android "maskable" icons; use the space setting instead.
- Images above 16 megapixels are scaled down first. HEIC/HEIF cannot be opened. Saved PNG files contain no metadata such as EXIF.
