Image Metadata Viewer (EXIF & GPS Checker)

See an image’s file size, real format, pixel size, color and transparency, plus EXIF details such as camera, date taken, orientation and GPS location, and whether XMP, IPTC or ICC data exist. Nothing is uploaded.

  • Runs in your browser (no upload)

If you pick something that is not an image, the tool tells you what it is. Up to 100 MB per file

Files are not uploaded; they are read only on this device.

How to use

  1. Choose or drag and drop one or more images.
  2. Review the basics (format, size, resolution), color and transparency, camera details, location and other metadata.
  3. If a location is stored, a warning appears. Remove it with the location remover before sharing if needed.
  4. Press "Copy as text" to copy everything at once.

FAQ

Is my image uploaded?

No. The file is read directly in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

It says the extension does not match the format.

The format is detected from the first bytes of the file (its magic number), not from the extension. For example, a PNG file named ".jpg" is reported as such.

Can I check the location in HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Yes. For HEIC and AVIF the tool finds the EXIF block in the file structure. The details are shown even if the browser cannot display HEIC.

What is the "displayed size"?

When a photo has an EXIF orientation (rotation), its stored width and height are swapped when displayed. Both sizes are then shown.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Shows the main fields (camera, lens, date taken, exposure, GPS, etc.). Maker-specific data (MakerNote) and the contents of XMP and IPTC are not listed, only whether they exist.
  • RAW files are only shown as far as they can be read as TIFF structures.
  • The share of transparent pixels is an estimate measured on a scaled-down copy, for formats the browser can display.
  • Damaged or cut-off files show only the parts that could be read.
