FAQ

Can I inspect password-protected PDFs?

Unencrypted parts (the PDF version and, in most cases, page count and sizes) are shown. Document details such as the title can be read after you enter the password, which is never sent or stored.

How is A4 detected?

The displayed page size (crop box and rotation applied) is compared with standard sizes such as A4 within ±2 pt (about 0.7 mm).

Where does the PDF version come from?

From the declaration at the start of the file, such as "%PDF-1.7", and from the document catalog; the newer one is shown.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Metadata is shown exactly as written in the PDF; its accuracy cannot be verified.
  • For password-protected PDFs, document details stay hidden until you enter the password; when the structure itself is encrypted, the page count and sizes may not be available either.
  • Paper names cover the main A and B series (JIS and ISO), Letter and Legal only.
  • Restrictions (printing, copying, etc.) show the values set in the PDF; whether they are respected depends on the viewer.
