FAQ
How is the grade calculated?
Each item’s percentage (score ÷ maximum × 100) is multiplied by its weight, the results are added up, and the sum is divided by the total weight. With weights adding up to 100%, that is your grade out of 100. The math uses exact decimals; only the display is rounded half up to 2 decimals.
What does scaling the weights do?
When the weights do not add up to 100%, each weight is replaced by weight × 100 ÷ total. The scaled weights are shown in the result table, and the result says that scaling was applied.
Can it tell me what I need on the final exam?
Yes. Leave the score of the items that are not graded yet blank and enter your target grade; the tool shows the average percentage you need on those items.
