Spaces at the start and end, and extra spaces between words, are always ignored.

How to use

  1. Choose the cards to practice. Cards saved with the Flashcard Maker are loaded automatically; without them you can use the sample cards or paste CSV.
  2. Pick a category, the direction (front → back or back → front) and how to answer (type or flip and grade yourself), then press "Start quiz".
  3. Type your answer and press "Check" to see if it is right. The results appear after every card has been asked once.
  4. See your accuracy and the cards you missed, retry just the wrong ones, and copy the results or save them as CSV.

FAQ

Can the same question come up twice in a row?

No. Each question is drawn at random from the cards not asked yet, so no card repeats until every card has been asked. The randomness comes from the browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues).

How are typed answers checked?

Your answer must match the card exactly, ignoring spaces at the start and end and extra spaces between words. You can also ignore upper and lower case and full-width and half-width forms. Synonyms and other wordings are not recognized, so press "Count as correct" when you know you were right.

Are my cards or results sent anywhere?

No. Loading cards and checking answers both happen in your browser on this device. Results are not saved, so copy them or save them as CSV if you want to keep them.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Answers are checked by matching text. Synonyms, different wordings or spellings may be marked wrong.
  • Cards pasted as CSV are not saved and disappear when you close the page. Import them into the Flashcard Maker to keep them.
  • Quiz scores and history are not saved.
