How to use
- Enter one guest per line, then the number of tables and seats per table.
- Choose the order (list order or random) and how to fill the tables (evenly or one by one), then press "Assign seats".
- Select a seat and then another to swap guests. When you are done, download the chart as CSV or PNG.
FAQ
What if there are not enough seats?
If there are more guests than tables × seats, an error is shown and nothing is assigned. Add tables or seats per table.
Is the random assignment fair?
Guests are shuffled with the Fisher–Yates method using your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator before they are seated, so every order is equally likely.
Can I swap seats with the keyboard only?
Yes. Tab to a seat and press Enter to select it, then press Enter on the seat to swap with. Selecting an empty seat moves the guest there.
The CSV shows garbled characters.
The CSV is saved as UTF-8 with a BOM, which Excel normally detects. If it does not, import the file and choose UTF-8 as the encoding.
Notes & limitations
- What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
- Up to 1,000 guests, 100 tables, 50 seats per table and 60 characters per name.
- The list and the chart are not saved. Download the CSV or PNG before closing the page.
- Assigning again after changing the list or table settings discards manual swaps.
- The image is drawn with the fonts installed on your device, so unusual characters may look different on other devices.
