Items and weights

Items and weights

Weights are whole numbers from 1 to 1,000. Doubling a weight doubles the chance of winning, and each slice of the wheel is sized by its weight.

The result is decided first with your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator, with exactly the chances set by the weights. The wheel is then turned to stop inside that item’s slice, so what you see always matches the result.

How to use

  1. Enter item names and weights (whole numbers 1–1,000). A bigger weight means a bigger chance and a bigger slice.
  2. Press "Spin". The wheel turns and the item it stops on is shown as the result.
  3. Optionally remove the winning item from the list or copy the history.

FAQ

Can the animation and the result disagree?

No. The result is decided first, by weight, with a cryptographically secure random generator. The rotation is then calculated so the wheel stops inside that item’s slice, away from its edges. Where it stops is the result.

How are the chances calculated?

Each item’s chance is its weight divided by the sum of all weights. With weights 1, 2, 4, 8 and 15 (sum 30) the chances are 3.33%, 6.67%, 13.33%, 26.67% and 50%. The slices use the same proportions.

Can I turn the animation off?

Yes. Tick "Skip the animation" or enable reduced motion on your device, and the result is shown at once without spinning.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • 2–50 items, names up to 40 characters, weights 1–1,000. Very thin slices are drawn without a name; check the table of chances.
  • Items and history are not saved. Reloading the page restores the example.
  • Fairness applies to the draw made in this browser. The tool does not check whether a promotion or raffle complies with local rules.
