FAQ

Are my original files changed?

No. Browsers cannot rename files on your device, so the tool packs renamed copies into a ZIP. Nothing is recompressed; the contents are byte-for-byte identical to the originals.

Where does the capture time come from?

From the EXIF capture time (DateTimeOriginal) stored in JPEG, PNG and WebP files, read on your device. Photos without it, and formats such as HEIC, use the file’s modified time, and the list says so.

What happens with duplicate names?

The first file keeps the name and later ones get "-2", "-3" and so on. Names that differ only in upper/lower case count as duplicates too.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Reading, naming and building the ZIP all happen in your browser.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Browsers cannot rename the original files directly; renamed copies are saved in a ZIP.
  • Capture times are read from EXIF in JPEG, PNG and WebP (first 256 KB of the file). HEIC, TIFF and others use the modified time.
  • EXIF capture times have no time zone, so the camera’s clock time is used as is. Modified times use this device’s time zone.
  • Up to 200 files and 500 MB in total per batch (the ZIP is built in your device’s memory).
