Recipe Serving Scaler (adjust ingredient amounts)

Scale every ingredient of a recipe to the number of servings you need. Fractions such as 1/2 or 1 1/2 work, and units like g, cups or tbsp are kept as written.

  • Runs in your browser (no upload)

Example: to turn a 2-serving recipe into 3 servings, enter 2 and 3.

Quantities can be 200, 1.5, 1/2, 1 1/2, 1-1/2 or ½. For ingredients without an amount (such as "a pinch"), leave the quantity blank and write it in the unit field; it is shown unchanged.

FAQ

How are fractions shown?

Amounts are shown as decimals (up to 2 places), plus a fraction when the value is an exact number of halves, thirds, quarters or eighths. In the copied text, ingredients you entered as fractions are written as fractions.

What about "a pinch" or "to taste"?

Leave the quantity blank and write "a pinch" in the unit field. The row is shown unchanged instead of being scaled.

Can I simply double the seasoning too?

The tool scales everything proportionally. Seasoning, liquids, cooking times and pan sizes may need adjusting when you change the quantity, so taste as you go.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Every ingredient is scaled by the same factor; seasoning adjustments, cooking times and pan sizes are not taken into account.
  • Units are not converted (for example grams to tablespoons or cups to millilitres); the unit you type is kept.
  • Ranges such as "2–3" and quantities with the unit typed in (200g) are not supported. Enter the quantity and the unit separately.
  • Nothing is saved; your ingredients are cleared when you close the page.
