Pomodoro Timer (focus and break cycles)
A Pomodoro timer with adjustable focus, short break and long break lengths. Time left is calculated from the end time, so it stays accurate when you switch tabs or your device sleeps. Alerts by sound and on screen.
- Runs in your browser (no upload)
Focus
ReadyFocus session 1 of 4
25:00
Focus sessions completed: 0 (0 min in total)
The time left is calculated from the scheduled end time, so it stays accurate when you switch tabs or your device sleeps.
Timer settings
Because of browser autoplay rules, sounds play only after you have pressed a button such as Start.
Settings are saved in this browser on this device. Restore defaults also deletes the saved data.
How to use
- Set the focus, short break and long break lengths and how many focus sessions come before a long break (defaults: 25, 5 and 15 minutes, every 4 sessions).
- Press Start to begin focusing. You can pause, reset or skip at any time.
- When a period ends you get a sound and an on-screen message, and the timer moves on to the next break or focus period. Turn on automatic start to keep cycling without pressing Start.
FAQ
Does the time drift if I switch tabs or my phone sleeps?
No. The time left is recalculated every time as "scheduled end time minus current time". While the browser pauses background work the sound may be late, but the display and the switch to the next period update as soon as you come back.
Why is there no sound?
Browsers block audio until you interact with the page, so press Start or Test sound once. Also check that "Play a sound when a period ends" is on and that your volume is up. iPhones may stay silent while the ringer switch is set to silent.
Are my settings saved?
The period lengths and other settings are saved in this browser (IndexedDB) and are never sent to a server. A running timer and the completed count are lost when you close the page.
Notes & limitations
- What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
- In background tabs, on a locked screen or in power-saving mode the browser may delay or stop timers, so the sound can be late or not play. The time left is shown correctly as soon as you return.
- Closing or reloading the page stops a running timer and clears the completed count (only the settings are saved).
- On iPhone and iPad the sound may not play while the ringer switch is set to silent.
