Audio Volume Adjuster (Gain, Normalize, Limiter to Prevent Clipping)

Raise or lower the volume of an audio file in dB or %, or normalize its peak to a target. A limiter keeps it below 0 dBFS so it does not clip. Preview, then save as WAV. Runs in your browser.

  • Runs in your browser (no upload)

WAV, MP3, M4A (AAC), OGG/Opus, FLAC, WebM and other formats this browser can play. Up to 200 MB per file

How to use

  1. Choose or drag and drop an audio file (or use “Try a sample sound”).
  2. Pick gain (dB), volume (%) or peak normalization, set the value and clipping protection (limiter). The expected peak is shown.
  3. Press “Apply and create WAV”, check the verification and listen to the result, then download it.

FAQ

What does the limiter do?

It turns the level down only at the loudest moments so peaks never exceed the ceiling (−1 dBFS by default). You can make audio louder without clipping.

Can I save as MP3?

The output is WAV (16-bit PCM), a lossless format. Compress it with another app if you need a smaller file.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. Reading and processing happen only inside your browser.

Notes & limitations

  • What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
  • Levels are sample peaks (dBFS). Inter-sample (true) peaks after lossy encoding and perceived loudness (LUFS) are not measured.
  • The output is a 16-bit WAV at the original sample rate and channel count (48 kHz if the original cannot be detected). Only formats this browser can play are accepted.
  • Up to 30 minutes and 200 MB. The whole audio is held in memory, so long files may fail on phones.
