FAQ
Will the picture be stretched?
No. It is scaled by the same factor horizontally and vertically; whatever does not fit is cropped or filled with borders, so shapes never distort.
Does the quality drop?
The video is re-encoded, so quality can drop slightly. “Keep source quality” never enlarges the picture.
What happens to the audio?
The audio is carried over. For broad MP4 playback it is saved as AAC in browsers that can encode AAC.
Notes & limitations
- What you enter is processed only on this page and is not sent to YUCTS servers.
- Decoding and encoding use the browser’s WebCodecs; browsers or codecs without support (for example HEVC in some browsers) cannot be converted.
- The output is MP4 (mostly H.264). Long or high-resolution videos take time and may run out of memory on phones (up to 1 GB per file).
- Videos with rotation metadata are turned upright before placement. HDR videos are written in standard dynamic range.
